Biography
Ivan Segawa is a PhD student in Epidemiology at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health. He is a pharmacist and clinical epidemiologist with experience in infectious disease research, implementation science, and global health. His current research interests focus on the epidemiology of malaria and sickle cell disease, with particular interest in applying population-based approaches to improve prevention and treatment outcomes in African populations. His broader research experience includes HIV prevention, vaccines, and global health security. His long-term goal is to develop and evaluate evidence-based interventions that improve health outcomes and reduce disparities in resource-limited settings.
