Biography
Dr. Erika R. Cheng is an Associate Professor with expertise in epidemiology, public health, and health services research. Her work focuses on improving health outcomes for children and preventing obesity early in life. She studies the factors that influence health across clinical and community settings and develops approaches to support healthier trajectories for children and families.
As Executive Director of the Health Excellence Achieved through Learning Health System Research (HEALeR) Collaborative, Dr. Cheng oversees initiatives that connect academic research, clinical care, and operational priorities. HEALeR brings together the Indiana University School of Medicine, the Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute, the Regenstrief Institute, and IU Health’s Office of Healthy Communities to support data-driven improvements in care delivery and population health.
